Practical Session 2 Update – Germany

We appreciate how much the cancellation of our exams has affected learners and we’re working hard on solutions to ensure they can gain their qualifications at the earliest opportunity.

Provided travel and COVID restrictions remain lifted, we will open a booking period from 11 August– 21 August September with exams to be held November - December. We will continue to keep this under review as our ability to accept bookings remains conditional on the restrictions continuing to be lifted. An update to Applicants will be announced as soon as we can and our Representatives will provide further guidance in due course. We are looking forward to providing candidates with exams again and thank you for your loyalty and support at this difficult time.

Asha, Emma and Roella share their stories of making the semi-finals of BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020

The BBC Young Jazz Musician competition is the BBC’s platform for young, talented jazz musicians. Following the success of the first three editions, the biennial competition returns in 2020 to celebrate and showcase the next generation of UK Jazz musicians.

NYJO alumni have enjoyed a lot of success throughout the awards’ short history. This year, we spoke to three of the 25 semi-finalists: NYJO Jazz Orchestra Tenor Saxophone player Asha Parkinson, NYJO Jazz Exchange Saxophone & Woodwinds player Emma Rawicz-Szcerbo, and NYJO Jazz Ambassador, Composer and multi-instrumentalist Roella Oloro about their careers and what this competition means for them.

We would like to wish Asha, Emma and Roella luck for the competition!
